Connie’s love for sewing began in Quito, Ecuador, where she studied at a university of design and built the foundation for what would become a lifelong career in fashion and tailoring.
At 25, Connie made the brave move to New York City as an immigrant, bringing her talent, creativity, and passion for sewing with her. Like so many immigrants who come to New York with a dream, she started from the ground up—working with different fashion companies and learning something new from every experience along the way.
Over the past 30+ years, Connie has built a career defined by craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a genuine love for making clothes feel special. Her most recent—and longest-standing—chapter was with Williamsburgs Brooklyn Denim Co., which specialized in Denim reconstruction, vintage garments, and custom made pieces.
Her work has taken her far beyond everyday alterations. Connie has created custom gowns for celebrities attending the Emmy Awards, as well as custom jackets and one-of-a-kind pieces for other public figures. But whether she’s working on a celebrity gown or altering your favorite pair of pants, she brings the same level of care to every stitch.
